What we can achieve
Made viable by the delivery of up to 800 new homes (including 280 affordable homes), if approved, Horsham Golf & Fitness Village will see the delivery of a flagship sporting facility for Horsham. Our proposals will meet an identified sporting need in the district that the current draft Local Plan does not sufficiently address:
- Sporting proposals fully supported by Sport England
- A new facility for Horsham Hockey Club, comprising two full size pitches, training pitch, supported by England Hockey
- Retention and modernisation of the existing golf facility, with our strategy to dramatically increase engagement with the game supported by England Golf
- A sport offering that champions diversity and inclusion
- One of the new pitches will be for multi-use sports to address significant shortfalls in this form of facility locally
- A new shared club house
- New changing and classroom facilities
- A permanent home for Warren Clark Golfing Dreams projected to cater to 30,000 visits from disabled and disadvantage children per year
- A new home for The Golf College, a sixth form college for those seeking a career in golf
- Excellent sporting and non-sporting educational opportunities
- Huge benefits of co-location for the viability of all sports clubs, building on the success of Horsham Football Club at the site, with the potential to incorporate other clubs moving forward
